Crystal Palace 5 Kanu SA 1
The second game of the tour was a real eye opener for the boys of Kanu SA. The boys were treated to a warm welcome from the Crystal Palace boys, and then the game began.
In the first minute Crystal palace worked the ball down the left wing before cutting into the box and unleashing an unstoppable shot in the net. 1.0 Palace.
The boys from Kanu SA didn’t let this set back affect them, and within 5 minutes had a goal disallowed for offside before the equaliser. The ball was worked down the right before cutting inside, where the ball fell to Tyler Cleghorn on the left of the penalty area. Tyler’s shot was blocked by the keepers leg before falling at the feet of Aidan Garforth who smashed the ball into the back of the net with his left foot.
The game remained tight with Crystal Palace dominating possession, and Kanu SA defending stoutly aided by some important saves by Owen Goodman.
Half Time Crystal Palace 1 Kanu SA 1.
The second half started in much the same way with Crystal Palace controlling much of the possession.
Crystal Palace finally made the breakthrough when Palace beat the offside trap and coolly slotted the ball home. Palace quickly added two more quickly to effectively kill of the game. Then with a few minutes left Palace rounded up the game after a fine dribble and pass to a teammate left an easy finish.
The Kanu SA boys never let their heads drop and had a couple more chances which they failed to take to give the score lines more respectable look.
On the whole the game was a really great experience for the boys and we at Kanu SA would like to thank Crystal Palace for the respect and professionalism showed to our players.
